So how many posts are okay per day?

I always say 4 is a safe number. It keeps “fans” engaged but not overwhelmed. That magic number is for
facebook and twitter. For a blog, once a day or even once a week is ok. For those of us who wish to share
but are not yet hardcore bloggers, once a week is definitely fine.

Statistics show that overdoing it quickly leads to “unfriending” and “unsuscribing” But the same statistics
also show that if you do not post enough, you loose the attention of your audience. So be careful not to
overdo it.

1.  A Valentine’s newsletter, email, or even a text if you have a texting program. 
2.  Share company news, funny stories, and some fun pictures. Make sure to include a call to action and ask your clients to share pictures and stories too. 
3.  Thank your clients for their love and support through the years. Make sure to mention their pets and family.4.  Offer a special treat, discount, or special deal for the holiday.
5.  The new timeline for Facebook offers a specials section for you to advertise special offers and coupons, so use it!

Make it fun and encourage your clients to share their stories and photos. 

Remember: Keeping your clients happy and loyal is kind of like a romance. Keep it fun, light, and be sweet because you never know- you may be the one to make your clients’ day!

Contests enable you to create dialog and get feedback from clients. It is a fun and inexpensive way to get new fans. But you MUST deliver a prize; never be the one that doesn’t deliver and make sure to congratulate and name the winner on your page.

Here is a short guide to having an online contest:

1. Make a goal and list what you want to achieve by having this contest.

Ex) get 100 new fans or drive awareness to a local charity or non-profit

2. Be creative, make it fun and something exciting that the client will also want to share on their personal page.

Ex)Photo contest, name an animal, or a video contest.

3. Put your contest on all of your social networks.

Ex) Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest,Google Plus and even your blog can have a link.

4. Do not let the contest go on for to long and let the people get bored.

Ex)  2 weeks or a month, but no longer.

5. Measure your success.

Ex) How many new fans did you get?  Did you reach the goals you had set in step one?

Although i think this may tell you my age, I still feel this tip is worth sharing.

When it comes to social sites this is a very accurate statement. Social media
has less to do with you; it’s all about the fans and who ever you are trying to
reach.

So many of you are now saying, “What do my fans want?”  The answer is so simple…
ASK! You will be amazed at the answers- your fans will provide great insight
about how you can give them the value they are looking for.

TIP: Follow their lead!

Ask questions, ask them to share their questions, and answer them.

Tip: NEVER leave a client question unanswered.  If you do not know the answer, get it.
Or at the very least direct them to someone who can help. Don’t be afraid to lead them to someone else who can give them the insight they need. It’s all about sharing.

Post fun pictures and videos to keep them engaged.

I guess that same thought could easily apply to cell phones; they are not just for phone calls anymore!  Technology is always surprising me these days though. 

In a world where your connections and relationships open doors to your desired destination, any different or new way to communicate should be considered a key.  As they say, it’s not what you know, but who you know!

So make sure to think outside the box and open your mind to new ways to communicate. Be creative and bold. When you meet new people in your industry don’t just friend them on facebook, but also Skype them because you never know whats behind door number three.

But the hardest part for me was the lack of results. Here I was working my butt off to be ahead of the curve! Every day I would check the numbers- hoping for at least one new fan. It was scary and I was seeing little or no results. So I decided to see why other pages were growing; do some research and evaluate my mistakes. In the end, the answer was not logical-not to me anyway…But hey, i’ll try anything!

So i changed my technique and I started to share more personal information and tell the fans about the staff. I also started to focus on the client by asking them to share photos and tips. Not only did we as a company get to know our client better, we built a relationship with them. The clients were now “friends”. The change in technique made a difference and ended the frustration.  It became fun, and best of all it worked!  Be brave and try something new, and let me know how it goes!

With the new wave of web technologies and design, a page that stays in in step with trends is bound to pique interest and quickly lower bounce rates.

Here are some tips to stay ahead of the curve:

1. Create a design that is sleek, thoughtful, and user friendly.

2. Be bold! Bold yet classy is in!

3. Cut the fat; too many separate pages lead to high bounce rates.

4. Always add links to your social media sites and channels.  Keep in mind social media should be a presence on your site but not a dominating one.

5. Don’t forget to add a mobile source… Smart phones and tablets are EVERYWHERE!
